AEK Athens and SIG Strasbourg with solid 4th quarter

2 different games from the same group took place yesterday. AEK Athens hosted Nizhny Novgorod in an encounter with no meaning for the qualifiers since the Greeks were already eliminated and the Russians already qualified. I didn’t bet anything in these circumstances, but in the last quarter when AEK was down by 11 with a couple of minutes to go, the odd was too high for the reality on the court.
In this kind of cases when the odd is huge and the probability of a come back is as well big, betting is a must. Even if they don’t need the victory, the Greek squad had to defend their homecourt and they have very skilled players. Nizhny came to Athens without Andrey Vorontsevich and Artem Komolov and this made them more vulnerable. Anyways, the initial odd was too low to bet on AEK but at odd 8.00 the betting view changed a lot. Exactly at that moment, AEK erupted in big style to steal the win.
The other game of the group was actually the real derby in order to advance to the next stage. Balanced till the 4th quarter, the game had to be decided in the last minutes. Strasbourg had all the advantages, the homecourt, a winning series in the domestic league and Basketball Champions League and it was the only French team left in the competition. They exploded in the last stanza, eliminating a Turk Telekom that had a lack of constancy the whole season.
