Chemistry will be the main thing of Paris Basketball
Last season Paris Basketball competed in Eurocup and they had ups and downs. The roster was quite good but selfishness prevented them from reaching their best. Each team member played more for himself than the whole team, which cannot take any club to excellent results.
This summer the situation has changed for the French club, who hired as a head coach the Finish Tuomas Iisalo, the man that won the Basketball Champions League with Telekom Baskets Bonn. With the German squad, Iisalo reaches also the Bundesliga finals, lost in front of Ratiopahrm Ulm. At the start of the last season, nobody expected such great achievements from Bonn. The miracle was the result of a good strategy put into practice by a group of amazing players who showed skills and chemistry.
Now this group is following coach Iisalo moving from Telekom Baskets Bonn to Paris Basketball. Tyson Ward, Collin Malcolm, Leon Kratzer, Sebastian Herrera, Michael Kessens and the MVP of the season in BasketballCL, T J Shorts signed with the French team. It is unbelievable that a coach and 6 of his players are coming to a new team in the same season. Sometimes if a coach can bring 2-3 of his ex-players to his new club it is already a big deal. But to bring in 6 players is simply marvellous.
Definitely, the new Paris Basketball will aim for higher goals this season and I am sure that chemistry will be the key to their game. I cannot wait to see them on the court.
