East vs. West – more balanced now in the NBA
East vs. West – more balanced now in the NBA
What an interesting summer, in NBA. Big trades, superstars changing conferences, shocking news and promising draft prospects.
However, I have noticed something interesting. The Eastern conference has become after this year trades’ tougher. Since 2000, the Eastern conference was considered the weak one, the biggest competition being disputed in the West. Therefore, since 2000, teams from West have won 13 finals, mostly by Lakers, San Antonio and nowadays Golden State Warriors. Also, have won 12 games from 18 in the ALL STAR break in which teams were divided by conference.
However, with KD, Irving, Antetokounmpo, Embiid, Butler, Kemba, Griffin and many others, East looks much better and why not, more interesting.
However, West remains, for now, the reign. The best proof is that in the All NBA first team, four players out of five are from Western conference. Except for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paul George, Nikola Jokic, James Harden and Stephen Curry still represent the West.
With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George signing with the Clippers, everyone’s dream would be an NBA final between the team from L.A. and Brooklyn Nets, where five of the best ten players in the world would meet for an enormous clash of the Titans.
No matter what, the show is certified, and I personally can hardly wait for this new season to start.
