LeBron James is getting old

If we were to pick the best basketball players in history I think that LeBron James would be an easy choice for everybody. Drafted in 2003 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, James became very quickly one of the most dominant athletes in the NBA, impressing everyone with his style of playing. In 2010, the Ohio-born superstar decided to go to the Miami Heat where he won his first two championships, before coming back to Cleveland and winning another one.

This summer, LeBron James chose to sign with the LA Lakers for the 16th season of his career. In the first 34 games, James is averaging amazing numbers showing that he’s still got it: 27.3 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 7.1 APG.  Actually, right now the only thing that can stop the quadruple MVP is Father Time. Until this season, the most consecutive games that LeBron James has missed due to injury were 8, in 2014-2015, after a sore left knee. This is a true testament to the physique of the Lakers’ player which is very strong, but not invincible.

That explains why in the Christmas Day game against Golden State Warriors, LeBron James suffered a groin injury. Since the end of the 2016-2017 season, he never missed a game so he gathered a lot of tiredness. More than that, he is 33 years old and it is normal for his body to feel all this pain. Not only me but a lot of fans observed that LeBron James doesn’t defend as much as he used to and he tries to preserve his energy as much as he can. He is still the best player in the NBA and I’m convinced that he will remain for another 3-4 years at least but the effect of time is starting to be seen.

It will be interesting to count how many games will LeBron James miss because of this injury and how will this impact his future. However, LeBron James remains one of the greatest players in history.
