Nick Calathes is the worst free-throw shooter in the Euroleague

This is not a subjective article but based on the Euroleague stats. According to the official website of the continental competition (www.euroleague.net), Nick Calathes is on the last spot on the percentage category on free-throws.

The Greek made just 16 from 39 free-throws this season, having a poor 41.03%. Nick Calathes and Maccabi’s guard DeAndre Kane (43.18) are the only Euroleague players who had under 50% on this category. The ironic thing is they are also the only guards on the list of the worst free-throw shooters in Euroleague.

The next players in this category of low percentage are all of them, centers: Joffrey Lauvergne (51.52%), Georgios Printezis (58.54), Anzejs Pasecniks (58.54), Alex Tyus (58.82), Kyle Hines (59.46), Tornike Shengelia (60.26), Ante Tomic (61.82), Walter Tavares (64.10).

This is your Top 10 of the worst free-throw shooters from the Euroleague and I find it weird that the giant of Real Madrid (2.21 m) has a much better percentage (with 23% better) than a so praised guard as Calathes. Both played the same number of games this season (18) and they had the same number of free-throws (39).

The conclusion is that Nick Calathes is a worst free-throws shooter than Shaquille O’Neal, the legendary Los Angeles Lakers center who averages 52.7% per career.
