One of the biggest abuse in the betting industry is happening right now
NetBet Enterprises Ltd. through its Romanian subsidiary is at the origins of one of the biggest abuses in the betting industry and it is happening right now!
On the night of 31st October 2022, the platform changed its format. Subsequently, all the users were informed that all the bets placed on the old platform will be cancelled and the funds will be returned to customers’ accounts. We are talking here also about bets on futures, placed within weeks even months before.
This is an absolutely outrageous approach by Netbet and opens a very dangerous precedent: a sports betting company can cancel a bet for no reason at any time.
Just imagine in the 2015-2016 season, when Leicester had a 5000-1 odds to win the Premier League, to have placed a bet on them. By using the same approach, the bookies could have cancelled the bets placed on Leicester for no reason (or under the fake reason they changed the format of their platform). Do you think it would be fair? Of course NOT!
This type of action must be severely punished and the bookies must understand that they cannot impose their own rules in order to take advantage of their customers.
I expect the authorities to condemn and address this behaviour and I urge all the bettors to take action against this bookie.
