Real Madrid at lowest scoring this season

When you score 60 points in the entire game, you don’t expect or deserve to win. Even in women’s basketball, you need to score more to secure the victory. That’s why the reigning champions didn’t have a chance to overcome the host team Buducnost in yesterday’s Euroleague game. This is the lowest scoring rate of the Spanish team this season. The only time when they made under 75 points was at Fenerbahce.

But it’s not just about low scoring. It’s about playing very bad and I will show you some stats that prove it:

  1. Sergio Llull was the only Madrid’s player who reached 10 points, but even he had a disastrous percentage: 2/10 field goal. Trey Thompkins followed him with 9 points and the almost the same crappy FG: 3/10. So these 2 players were the best scorers for Real Madrid.
  2. In the first 2 quarters, the Spanish team scored 28 points, then they kept the rhythm with Buducnost for the 3rd quarter (20-20), being again rubbish in the 4th stanza, when they scored a poorly 12 points. Actually, Real Madrid lost 3 quarters and just one quarter they tied the level of Buducnost.
  3. Real Madrid made a total of 18 turnovers compared with just 7 of the Montenegrin team, who dominated also at the steals category: 10-3.
  4. The percentage on both categories were very low for the reigning champions: 37% at two points and nearly 27% from the arc.
  5. The only category was Real Madrid was better is the rebounds: 46-38, but not enough to win the battle.
