The league is in good hands
Father Time is undefeated. It is always hard to see players that made history growing old and weary. Everyone wishes that they would play forever, but that’s not possible.
However, it is nice to see how the young generation of NBA players is taking over. Donovan Mitchell, Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Jayson Tatum, and Devin Booker are playing lights out and this can be seen in the playoffs.
In the first four years of the last decade, LeBron James led the Miami Heat to four consecutive finals: two against the Spurs, and one against the Mavericks and Thunder. Then it was time for a great rivalry between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. After one season, James returned to the finals with the Los Angeles Lakers and won his fourth championship.
But this time it is different. The only players from the older generation who still fight for a title are Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and Kyrie Irving. Besides that, the Semifinals are dominated by Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Trae Young, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and Donovan Mitchell.
From what I’ve seen so far, I think that Brooklyn Nets will win the title, but after this season the passing of the torch will be completed. The young generation of Doncic, Williamson, and Ball will take over. The league is in good hands.
