Tofas committed huge mistakes vs. Limoges
It was near the end of the 3rd quarter of the Eurocup game between Tofas and Limoges and it was almost clear that the Turkish side will steal an easy victory. They had 68-61 and the possession of the ball with 1:21 minutes remaining in the quarter. They should have stayed calm, waiting for the clock to go down and enter in the final stanza with the maximum possible advantage. Instead of this, Tofas speed up the offense and a couple of mistakes start to happen which allowed the visitors to tie the game in the last second.
The stupid mistakes continued in the final minutes when Tofas regain the lead 81-73 and again it was 99% sure that there will be no turning back. But the confidence in the positive result of the battle was again just a trap. Tofas players relaxed too early, forgot to defend, allowing a lot of 3 point shots. They were a bit surprised that Limoges did not lose the trust in the victory.
Without any offensive solution, Tofas couldn’t stop the bleeding and almost sure they will miss again their Top 16 spot. Just a double miracle can save them: to win next week at Cedevita and, at the same time Limoges to lose home against the weakest team of the group, Arka Gdynia.
It’s more tragic for Tofas because this week they signed the 7th foreigner, Frank Elegar exactly for the Eurocup campaign because in the Turkish championship, they are allowed just with 5 foreigners. If they won’t qualify Tofas will have to say good-bye to at least one of them.
