Unbelievable facts you didn’t know about Bryant Dunston

You probably know Bryant Dunston from Olympiacos Piraeus, where he became famous in European basketball as a powerful center, good rebounder with a strong defensive. After two seasons he moved to Anadolu Efes. Yesterday he impressed the audience in Sinan Erdem Dome with another huge performance against the visitors from F.C. Barcelona.

Dunston finished with 21 index rate, more than any of Blaugrana players. But he shocked the fans with a 3 pointer because was the first shot from outside the arc scored this season for the American center. He has now 1 from 3 in 26 games played so far.

But did you know that:

  • after finishing college basketball, in his first 9 years pro-career Bryant Dunston never scored from the arc? This means that in 301 games played as a professional player for different teams in South Korea, Israel, Greece, Italy and Turkey, Dunston scored 0 from 9 at 3 point range.
  • in his first season with Anadolu Efes (2015-2016) he even didn’t try to shoot from the arc, in the next season he shot just 1 and he missed it, but in the 2017-2018 season he had 4/14 which means 28.6%
  • but now it’s time to “drop the bomb”: in the college years spent at Fordham (2004-2008), Dunston Bryant had a season with 19 from 39  (48.7%) from the 3 point line and the next one with 12 from 24 (50%). Impressive isn’t it?

Used almost all the time in the paint, Bryant Dunston helped a lot his Euroleague teams, but he has also good hand even if he doesn’t shoot long range.
