Virtus with a great win in Madrid

The prediction I made  –  on my private Telegram channel with basketball betting tips – for this game between Real Madrid and Virtus Bologna was a handicap of +15.5 or +16.5 on the visitors’ side. I preferred not to take the risk of betting on Virtus as a winner, especially after the disastrous game they had in Belgrade last week. But of something I was sure: the Italians will be much better because they were in danger to touch the bottom of the competition.

Virtus had a bad start of the Euroleague season, influenced also by the absence of Tornike Shengelia, who was long-term injured. Having a large roster, a lot of money and a coach like Sergio Scariolo, Virtus Bologna won the Eurocup last year. It was clear 2 years before that this project is destined to bring back to the Euroleague one of the greatest clubs ever.

Virtus didn’t enter the Euroleague just to be a fugitive presence in the competition, they are here to show quality basketball. The club is fighting for a playoff spot, if not for a semifinal one! So, the results had to show.

I was sure that Real Madrid won’t beat Virtus by many points because the motivation of the Italian squad was huge. Also, the motivation of the Spanish national coach Scariolo was sky-high. Imagine Scriolo beating Real in Madrid with an underdog team. It gives him again unexpected glory. It amplifies the myth of the great coach that can beat any team in the world.

All in all, the miracle happened and Virtus stole a great win in Madrid, proving they are coming for more this season.
