Weekly top 5 of shame (17-23 December)

Every Monday we publish the top of the most disappointing teams based on the vote of basketball fans. You can vote on Facebook or send us a message.

5. BANVIT

The Turkish team lost both games, first in Basketball Champions League at Le Mans and then in BSL at Besiktas with a huge margin 95-75. They share the last position in Turkey with Istabul BBSK.

4. FUENLABRADA

The Spanish team was destroyed in Basketball Champions League by the host Antwerp Giants with 102-78 and then they lost at home in ACB against Burgos.

3. TURK TELEKOM

The 2nd place of the Turkish league had no chance at all against Partizan in the do-or-die game for the Eurocup TOP 16. They lost the battle and the qualification with 87-72!

Despite winning the game in the BSL against the host from AFYON with 79-77, Turk Telekom was lazy in defense allowing veteran Earl Calloway to score 6/9 or Tyrus McGee 4/6 from the arc. They almost lost the game in front of a weaker opponent that has not so many stars as Turk Telekom. Kenny Gabriel and T.J. Campbell disappointed scoring only 2 points each.

2. BRESCIA

Even if they won in the Italian championship on Vanoli Cremona court with 91-88, they disappointed a lot in Eurocup, losing at home the chance to qualify to the Eurocup Top 16, in front of the underdog Ulm.

The German team trashed Brescia with an incredible 97-80! In a derby! on your own court! Such a shame!

1.PANATHINAIKOS

The Greek team was your favorite with a big margin. And it’s clear why. First they were smashed in the Euroleague, on the court of the reigning champions Real Madrid with 89-68. Then, they’ve lost at home against Olimpia Milano (83-86).

During the weekend, the Panathinaikos players motivate themselves to play better and they didn’t give any chance to their opponent from the Greek capital. They overcame AEK Athens with a huge 111-79. But this victory won’t change the Euroleague ranking, where they need desperately to win games.
