Worst finishers: Crvena Zvezda eliminated by Limoges
This is something that nobody expected from Serbian mentality. To be eliminated from Eurocup Top16 in such an embarrassing way. It’s not that you cannot lose to Limoges, it’s the way you did it.
Having 7 points ahead in the last 2 minutes of the game and then receiving an 8-0 run is not something usual for a solid team with a strong personality. This can happen just to some inexperienced teams without any tradition in basketball. Not to Crvena Zvezda, the best team from Aba league, with such a great roster.
It would have been no tragedy to be beaten by Limoges during the game. Any team can win any game. But to have a perfect 3rd quarter (25-8) and a comfortable lead (12 points) before the last stanza and then blow everything is ridiculous, especially from a Serbian team.
In the last 2 minutes, Crvena Zvezda offered a sample of how to make all the basketball errors together (turnovers, bad decisions, no scoring at all, fragile defense) who are specific for juniors, not for big teams.
