After 10 Years, Anadolu Efes!
After 10 years, Anadolu Efes is the new Champion of Turkey! They won it in a nice fashion way, on a decisive game in front of their fans. Fenerbahce had no chance this game, Anadolu winning by 15 points – score 89-74.
The last dance between Anadolu and Fener started very balance, after the first quarter away team leading by 2 points, 23-21. Things started to get better for Efes from the second quarter, a period when they scored 23, conceding only 14. It was the key part of winning this game 7. After the Half-Time, things continued to go on a positive way for the home side, and the end of the game was much expected to start the celebration.
Statistically, it was a very balanced game and the statistic sheet looked pretty much the same for both teams in Rebounds, Assists and Turn Overs. The element that pointed out the victory for Anadolu being the free Throw percentage. Which was literally perfect: 21 shot – 21 scored.
Shane Larkin was a one-man show last night, scoring 38 points and leading the red and blue celebration. The other hero for Efes was Vasilije Micić, the Serbian point-guard who scored 20 points. For the losing side, Kostas Sloukas had 21 points and Nikola Kalinic 19 points but was not enough to stop the party in Sinan Erdem Dome, when 16.000 people celebrated the title.
For Anadolu Efes, it was their 14 Turkish League Title and it was their first title after 10 years of waiting. They started the party and they continue the tradition, being the team with the most trophies in Turkish basketball.
