Ante Tomic stats will remain in the history of FC Barcelona

The Croatian center born in Dubrovnik (1987) was the captain of the team during the last 2 seasons, writing in his 8 years spent with Barca, beautiful moments for the Blaugrana fans. He will definitely remain in their heart for his dedication and intelligence on the court and last but not least by his amazing numbers.

From 2012 when he signed with the Catalans coming then from the big rivals, Real Madrid, Tomic became the foreigner with most games played in Azulgrana colours in the history of the club. He has a total of 579 games in all the competition where his team participated: Euroleague, Liga ACB, Copa del Rey and the Super Cup. At this chapter, his numbers are by far superior to any other players in the history of the club. The next guys on this list are Erazem Lorbek with 341 games played and Gianluca Basile with 329.

But the Croatian giant dominated at rebounds as well, being the second in the Spanish League from all Barcelona’s players with a total of 1967, only behind the legendary Roberto Dueñas who had 2113.

Even more, Tomic was the 3rd player at index rate in the history of Barca and the third most valued player in history with an averaging 15.6, being past on this category only by Juan Carlos Navarro and Epi. At the same time, Tomic ended up his career with Barca as the sixth-highest scorer for Barça in ACB with 10.7 points per game.

Ante Tomic helped FC Barcelona to achieve a couple of titles during their time spent together: 1 ACB League, 3 Spanish Cup and 1 Supercup. It’s a pity that he ended up his contract exactly now when Barca has a great opportunity to win the Euroleague trophy next season, which is an achievement that is missing from the Croatian portfolio. I think he deserves it and I hope he will reach it till the end of his basketball career.
