Besiktas to be destroyed at home by Turk Telekom
Even if at the beginning of the season, I saw Besiktas Sompo Japan as a title contender in Basketball Champions League and a playoff force in the Turkish league, now it’s clear for everybody they will miss those goals. Rumours about the late payment are confirmed by the recent events. Reputed coach Dusko Ivanovic was the first who left the club signing with Euroleague powerhouse Baskonia.
The next man to leave is the experienced guard Jordan Theodore, who reached the Final of the BasketballlCL years ago with Banvit. He is by far, the clutchest player for Besiktas, as we could see in the game won in the last minutes against Gaziantep. Without the brain who orchestrated almost all the offensive plays of the team, Besiktas has no chance against Turk Telekom.
Another American player, James McAdoo entered only for 2 minutes on the court in the last encounter, against Pinar Karsyiaka and this is a big sign that he won’t be a threat for Turk Telekom tomorrow. Maybe he is leaving too, but no official statement was made by the club. To complete the image of the disaster, the Turkish starter at the power forward position, Burak Can Yildizli was sidelined the last games due to an injury, that’s why I don’t see any hope for Besiktas tomorrow.
Besiktas is having a disappointing season in Europe and in the domestic league as well, while Turk Telekom showed a lot of energy, being one of the title contenders in BasketballCL. Their rotation is larger and of more quality now than the host team and I expect them to have no problem smashing the “dying” squad of Besiktas.
Last, but not least, the odds on Turk Telekom were dropping a lot every minute, from 2.55 at 1.72 on bet365 for true reasons, there is no doubt about it.
