Dinamo Sassari to smash Reggio Emilia in Legabasket
Today in Seria A, Dinamo Sassari will host Reggio Emilia in the hottest match of round 9. Both teams are in good shape and this game should be very balanced. Last season both teams won at home, with Sassari winning the last meeting 82-71.
Dinamo Sassari season continues to be a very good one. They only lost twice in the Seria A against Venezia and Trieste and once in Basketball Champions League away at Turk Telecom. Their main strength of the season is the rotation, with 8 different players averaging over 7 points per game in Seria A and 5 points per game in Champions League. They are passing the ball very well, looking for the open man and their offense brings them those victories. In those 2 defeats, they scored less than 60 points, but when they pass the 75-points mark, they are very hard to beat. You have to defend very well against them and don’t let them score many points, because if they do, they are very hard to be stopped. In last 5 wins, they scored, on average almost 100 points per game, including a 113-95 win against Torun in BCL. In the last game, they received the visit of Strasbourg in BCL, three days ago. They smashed their France opponents 90-67 after a very good game at both ends of the floor. The main contributors were: Curtis Jerrells with 14 points (4-6 from the 3-point line), Michele Vitali with 13 points and 4 rebounds and Dyshawn Pierre 13 points and 5 rebounds.
For Reggiana, the stats are simple. Their main strength looks to be their defense. When they kept their opponents to less than 75, they won the game, but when the opponents pass that mark, they lost the game, like those against Brescia (82-90), Trento (76-84) and Virtus Bologna (59-79). In the last game against Virtus, they were outscored in rebounds, assists and shooting percentages, finishing with only 2 three-pointers made out of 19 attempts. They should be very careful with those shots because against a team like Sassari, you need to score many points in order to have a chance to win the game.
This game will be interesting, but I can’t see how Reggiana will stop Sassari’s offense. They are good in defense and that was the most important until now, but they don’t have any chance today. Sassari will continue their big scoring games and add another victory to their record.
