FC Barcelona dismantled Virtus Bologna

What was supposed to be a derby between two teams fighting to reach the Final Four, ended in a terrible blow. Barca gave no chance to Virtus Bologna from the beginning till the end of the game. It seems that the absence of Toko Shengelia and the news of the signing of Ricky Rubio created a huge gap. Nobody expected such a high final margin of 84-57 while FC Barcelona demonstrated character and consistency during the game.

Virtus Bologna can do better than that, and if Shengelia returns, they could be a Final 4 contender, even if the fight for that spot is more difficult every day with many teams keeping an eye on it. Barca’s victory helped also Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce to have a better chance, while Monaco and Olympiacos are very close.

Yesterday we saw an amazing version of Barca and I am sure that they will reach another level after the incorporation of Ricky Rubio in the squad routine. His experience and his devotion to the club could be exactly that point that FC Barcelona was missing in the last seasons. I truly think that this team can be a great title contender and against all odds can do the surprise and win the EuroLeague.

If Barca can maintain this type of concentration and quality of the game that we saw yesterday night in Palau Blaugrana against Virtus Bologna, no team can stop them in the final stages.
