Greece or Germany to advance to the semifinals of the Eurobasket?
The most important quarterfinals of today will oppose two title contenders: Greece and Germany. Even if nobody gave much credit to Schroder & C0 months before, they looked very good at this Eurobasket. From the beginning when they smashed France they showed great team effort and motivation. Could they continue the road to glory, beating Greece and advancing to the semifinals? My answer is they could, but probably they won’t!
The most important thing about this game is that the winner will beat later Spain or Finland, getting the passport to the Eurobasket finals! That’s why is a pity that one of these two excellent squads will have to leave the competition today.
And now let’s see the chances for each team. Greece, of course, is the big favourite, they have Giannis and a solid core. Their main advantage is that except for the Antetokounmpo brothers, almost all the other players are coming from Olympiacos and PAO. So the players know each other very well, they played together or they were opponents in hundreds of games in the Greek finals and so on. This could give the squad good chemistry.
On the other side, Germany has also an excellent roster with 3 NBA tough presences and many Euroleague experienced players. Propelled by the public because they play at home, Germany is a dangerous team that can surprise anyone.
It will be an interesting duel between two of the deepest rosters at Eurobasket and may the best team steal the win!
