I gave credit to Bilbao winning against Burgos
For the second week in a row, I have trusted Bilbao Basket to win at home. Last week, they defeated Fuenlabrada, now the visitors were San Pablo Burgos. Why I have chosen Bilbao in front of the 2 times Champions League winners?
Firstly, since last week Bilbao Basket have all the players available and their home court, Miribilla is very difficult for any team. Bilbao had a small budget this season but their desire to win is huge. They have big support from the community of fans and a good coach in Alex Mumbru.
Then, San Pablo Burgos had a difficult game away in Lithuania, travelling a lot this week and they were a bit tired compared with the well-rested Bilbao. That’s the problem with participating in international competitions: you can have long journeys and as a consequence, you will lose some games.
Bilbao’s initial odds were good enough for a home game. It started at 2.65, then dropped slowly to 2.10. That was a sign that the bettors trusted as well Bilbao Basket with a chance to win. It was already a good bet because you could make profitable cash out on Bilbao.
The last argument was that a few days ago in the Champions League, Rytas Vilnius with a home-grown roster and against all odds, destroyed San Pablo Burgos leading the whole game with around 20 points. That game showed us all the shaky parts of the Spanish team. They are not in their best shape and moment.
