Inspired by Tomic, Joventut shocked Unicaja

It was a magic night in Badalona, where the local team faced a great opponent, Unicaja Malaga. The visitors didn’t lose a game in Liga Endesa since October. They are occupying the second place in Spain, after Real Madrid, so it looked like an impossible mission for Joventut. But as always they believed in themselves and made an amazing effort to face Unicaja.
The inspiration for the team came from veteran center Ante Tomic, who had a big night with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Shannon Evans, the new acquisition of Joventut also finished in great numbers, having 15 points while Andrews and Feliz added 14 each.
Unicaja also made a good game, but not enough this time, while the hosting team fought till the end and had better concentration in the last minute of the encounter. I think they were too confident after the first quarter and they looked at it as an easy game. Instead of this, they found a strong team that slowly came back into the game and like the great squads controlled the final. Their best offensive guy was David Kravish with 16 points, followed by Thomas and Perry with 12 each.
It is an important win for Joventut Badalona who is struggling to eye the playoff in the Spanish league. If they play like this they have a good chance to make it and adding Shannon Evans to the roster seems to be a good move.
