Joventut with an amazing come back over the leader Tenerife

It was supposed to be a challenging game for the host side, Joventut Badalona who had some important absences as Simon Brigander and Guillem Vives. Lenovo Tenerife came with a complete roster and they are currently the no.1 team in the Spanish league. Beating them in these circumstances sounds almost impossible.

As expected the visitors controlled the game from the first minutes, but Joventut was always there, trying to come back. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the margin was very comfortable for Lenovo Tenerife and it seemed that the game was sealed already. Joventut was losing because till that moment Tenerife showed they were dominant.

But then appeared Andres Feliz and everything changed for the hosts. Feliz, who didn’t score till the last stanza, made 17 points in the last 10 minutes boosting the amazing comeback of Joventut. From 11 down Joventut eventually win by 9 pushed by the crowds of fans. The 4th quarter was simply unbelievable: Joventut Badalona won it 30-12 proving their collective effort could fill the absences of Birgander and Vives.

One of the main reasons for the Joventut’s victory was their very good defense at the arc. Lenovo Tenerife had a poor day from the 3-point line, with only 9 from 36 shots attempted. The percentages of Joventut were superior in any chapter including 2-pointers, 3-pointers and free throws and in the end, the difference in the index rate says it all: the efficiency was 90-74 for the Catalan squad.
