Keravnos destroyed with a 31-3 run in the fourth quarter by Lietkabelis

This was one of the most amazing games I have ever seen. Maybe there are only one or two encounters like this per season. In the first leg of the qualifiers round in Basketball Champions League, the host team Keravnos has started very well and at the half time they built a comfortable advantage 41-24. Till the break time, the visitors from Lithuania, Lietkabelis looked overshadowed by the good defense of the Cypriots and easy to be beaten.
But after the halftime, Lietkabelis forced more the engine, coming close enough to put in danger what seemed a so easy victory for Keravnos. And the 4th quarter was one that will remain in the books of the BasketballCL as a record, difficult to improve. Lietkabelis started the last stanza with an unbelievable 21-0 run and then they continued to demolish Keravnos, establishing the score of the quarter at 31-3! Thanks to this great collective effort, the Lithuanians are almost qualified (71-55) in the BasketballCL group stage, having the second leg against Keravnos at home.
The Lithuanian school of basketball proved once again its reputation in this huge comeback win. What is the most impressive is that Lietkabelis has only one foreigner, Ken Brown who has a big contribution to the scoring list with 22 points. Olufemi Olujobi had 0 points in 5 minutes and Zeljko Sakic only 2 points in 35 minutes, so the main contributors were the local players who provided as well a large rotation. This is an example for other countries like Romania, that are buying a lot of foreigners, instead of growing their own players.
