Kevin Durant jersey retired by GSW
Kevin Durant jersey will be retired. A new page of history was written on the first day of the free agency. Kevin Durant, arguably the best player at this moment left Golden State to go to Brooklyn Nets alongside with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan to form a new title contender.
With this being said, let us make a small pause from the rumors and focus on this great player, Kevin Wayne Durant. After three great seasons with the Dubs, co-chairman and chief executive Joe Lacob announced that Kevin Durant jersey, number 35, will be retired for this organization as an appreciation sign for what Durant managed to do there.
Kevin Durant averaged little over 34 minutes, 25.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.5 blocks per game, in those three seasons, while his playoffs numbers look even better. With 29.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 blocks in the three playoffs with the Warriors, Durantula won 2 titles and 2 Finals MVP, securing a well-deserved recognition as one of the best to have played this game. His athleticism and pure shooting skills make him one of the most lethal NBA super players.
Even though he spent only three years with the “Splash Brothers”, the impact he had on the team, fans and the whole organization led to the decision to have his number retired as a matter of appreciation.
What do you think? Is this the right thing to do? Will his leadership and basketball talent be enough to influence his new team? Will it be enough to win the first title for Nets’ organization?
Only time will tell…
