Real Madrid destroyed Barca in game 3

Real Madrid comfortably beat rivals Barcelona in Game 3 of the Spanish ACB League Final to take a 2-1 lead in the series and thus Los Blancos are just one win away from winning the title.

Barca won the regular season and was considered to be the favourite before the Final started, but in the first two games in the Palau Blaugrana, we could see that Mirotic and co will have a very hard task in winning the series. After easily winning Game 1, Real almost stole Game 2 as well but lost in the end by 2 points.

The first quarter of Game 3 at WiZink Center was very balanced, but Madrid started to slowly take control of the game in the second quarter, building a 10-point lead (46-36). The difference between the teams continued to grow in the second half and with 6:45 to go in the fourth quarter Madrid’s lead reached 19 points after a dunk by Guerschon Yabusele (72-53). Barca tried to limit the proportions of the disaster and cut the lead to 12 points, but it was too late for a comeback. Madrid won 81-66 and has the chance to win the title tomorrow in front of their home fans.

Just like in Game 1, Gabriel Deck was the top scorer for Real with 14 points, but again it was a team effort with 6 players reaching more than 10 PIR points. For Barca, Kyle Kuric was the top scorer. The American shooting guard had a very bad streak shooting the 3-pointer before the Finals started, but it seems he regained his confidence and can be a key player for Barca in trying to turn the series around.

After the game, coach Sarunas Jasikevicius criticised his players, complaining mainly about the 19 turnovers his team had and also about losing the rebounding battle (Real had 15 offensive rebounds).
