Rytas has to win today vs. Oldenburg
I think today there can be only one result of the encounter between Rytas Vilnius and EWE Baskets Oldenburg. The Lithuanians have the first chance to win the battle because:
They are in excellent form, smashing Zalgiris, Burgos and Besiktas during the last rounds, mentioning only the amazing teams. All these opponents seem much better than Oldenburg at this moment.
The German squad is exactly the opposite, losing any game in the domestic league where they are occupying now the last spot with only 2 wins in 10 games. During the last month, they were struggling every game and I think they have no chance to qualify from this tough Champions League group. Maybe they should concentrate to avoid relegation in Germany, saving efforts and accept they cannot do at the same time two different campaigns: in Europe and in the domestic league. Their rotation is not so deep and the roster is mediocre with an old Ricky Paulding that is able to score 25 or 0 points depending on the day.
If we compare that Rytas that lost months ago in Oldenburg with this Rytas we can see a huge growth of the team and a much more consistent game from the Lithuanian side. Important was also the addition of the experienced forward Maurice Ndour which is of great help.
