The Spaniards too good for Promitheas and Ludwigsburg
Last night, Unicaja Malaga and Ucam Murcia booked their tickets to the BCL Final Four in Belgrade. Real title contender in these last two editions of the European competition Unicaja Malaga wanted to finish the series in 2 games because they are also fighting to maintain a top position in Liga Endesa. This could be Unicaja’s historical season if they reach finals or titles in the Spanish League and Basketball Champions League.
Even if Promitheas gave everything on the court, you could easily see that the visitors have a much better roster and chemistry made in the last one and a half seasons. Unicaja is looking better and better and they can do something big this year. Last season they conquered the Spanish Cup and missed the trophy in BCL, having the home-court advantage in the Final Four. This could build them to have more desire, discipline and motivation this season.
On the other game, Ucam Murcia gave no chance to Ludwigsburg. The Spanish team coached by Sito Alonso improved a lot during the season, converting themselves into a title contender in BCL too. On a good day, anything is possible and definitely we will have a very tough semifinal between Malaga and Murcia.
If Lenovo Tenerife will eliminate Tofas Bursa we will have for the first time 3 Spanish squads in the Final Four of the Basketball Champions League and I am almost sure one of them will win the title.
