The Turkish players of Besiktas had a great contribution in the victory over Bahcesehir
The idea of reducing the number of foreigners to only 5 in the domestic league of Turkey is showing, again and again, its wonderful results in this second season. Yesterday, the local players of Besiktas had a huge game on the road over Bahcesehir. They scored together 47 points from team’s 80 with the main contributors in Burak Can Yildizli -21, Samet Geyik and Birkan Batuk both with 10 and Ismet Akpinar with 4.
The Besiktas’ coach Dusko Ivanovic rotated 10 players during the game won with 80-75, giving a lot of minutes to the Turkish players of the team. Their growth is visible and I am sure Beskitas will rely a lot on them in the European campaign too, where they can make a difference especially in the encounters with other teams without a solid bench.
And let’s not forget that Besiktas has very good foreigners too: Nemanja Durisic, Jordan Theodore, James Michael McAdoo and Shaquielle McKissic and Todd Gotcher. That’s why this season they are aiming for better results both in Turkey and in the Basketball Champions League.
