There is a new Champion in Italy! And they are Umana Reyer Venezia! After a 7-games series, Venezia won the decisive game against Dinamo Sassari in front of their fans with the score 87-61.
To accomplish this, they won every quarter of the game (16-12, 23-18, 30-17, 18-14) and the Palasport Giuseppe Taliercio Arena erupted at the end of another great season.
The main heroes of the night for the new champions were Michael Bramos (22 points, 6 rebounds) and Marquez Haynes (21 points). To complete the victory, another 3 players were in double digits for Umana Reyer Venezia.
American forward Rashawn Thomas answered for Sassari with 16 points, 7 rebounds, but was not enough to stop Venezia from winning their 4 ever Italian League Title.
The man behind the success must be Walter de Raffaele. Since his debut as a head coach of Umana Reyer Venezia, the ”Orogranata” team has won 3 trophies in 3 consecutive years. Starting with the Italian league trophy in 2017, FIBA Europe Cup in 2018, and now the title that they will celebrate the entire summer.
