Who had a perfect double round week in the EuroLeague?
Each time when there is a double round in the EuroLeague it’s a bit difficult for the teams to win both games because of many reasons: some of them have to travel a lot, others had older players who cannot recover in 48 hours, there are also games in the domestic league before and after the double round and so on.
This week 6 teams had a perfect journey in the Euroleague winning both encounters they played. Let’s see what they did:
Olympiacos beat both Turkish squads, smashing Fenerbahce in Istanbul and then Anadolu Efes in Piraeus. The Greeks are sharing the 1st spot in the EuroLeague with Real Madrid.
Los Blancos passed easily over PAO at home and then they struggled a bit at Monaco, maintaining the top position.
FC Barcelona won at home with Maccabi Tel Aviv and with Bayern Munich, two “easy” games which were not easy because the Catalans struggled a lot to win them. Barca is close to the top spot, they win games but they don’t look very solid, alternating very good moments of play with weak minutes when they are unrecognizable.
Partizan destroyed Lyon in Belgrade and then surprisingly they had no problems with Zalgiris in Kaunas. The Serbian team is eyeing the playoff spots.
Virtus Bologna showed great motivation in spite of their injuries. First, they beat Crvena Zvezda and then they took revenge on Asvel Lyon.
Last but not least, Olimpia Milano escaped from the last spot of the competition by winning both home games against Baskonia and Crvena Zvezda. The signing of Shabazz Napier was a good move, filling the hole in the Italian roster.
