Zaragoza without 4 key-players at the Final phase of Liga ACB

Casademont Zaragoza had a good season so far in Liga ACB and Basketball Champions League. In Spain, they were the revelation team, being in the top 3 the whole year. But it seems that their beautiful campaign will end here without any chance to reach the semifinals of the domestic league. The only reason: they lost a couple of important players.

According to their official site, Casademont Zaragoza will take part at the Final Tournament hosted by Valencia between 17-30 June with the next roster: San Miguel, Alocén, García, Krejci, Ennis, Barreiro, Brussino, Benzing, Radovic and Hlinason. In addition, they will count on the local youngsters Pradilla, Urdiain y Etexguren. The entire roster is much younger than it was during the season when the club had at disposal the veteran center Fran Vasquez. The Spanish league all-time leader at blocks decided this May to end up his amazing basketball career. He is 37 years old and remains the 7th at rebounds in the history at the Spanish league and as well 7th at games played in Liga ACB. His experience would have been a great help for Zaragoza at the Final Phase in Valencia.

Another important absence will be the other center Javier Justiz (2.11 m). He was injured for some games and the Spanish club decided to bring in as enforcement the former NBA and Fenerbahce center, Jason Thompson. But now the big man is gone too and this will generate some problems in the paint, where the coach will have a short rotation. The club decided to part ways with Jason Thompson and with another American with huge experience in Europe, D.J Seeley. During the break caused by Covid-19, both of them were cut by the Spanish team, which looks now like resigned in front of the next games. They can face San Pablo Burgos, but against Gran Canaria, MoraBanc Andorra, Valencia Basket and Real Madrid it will be almost impossible to win.
