Aaron White is so right. He was misused by Armani Milan
In the interview given to the Lithuanian website 15min, Aaron White made something that I was expecting: speaking the truth about his ‘3 minutes per game’ with Armani Milan. I will quote here his words from Sportando:
“I lost my love for basketball in Milan and now the love was reborn in Tenerife” White said. “My role in Milan was not what I was expecting when I signed the contract there. I was not playing and I was not happy with the situation. I did not see the point of sit-in gone the bench, not playing and being annoyed. I decided to leave the team. I needed a team where I could finish the season, re-gain confidence and enjoy basketball again”.
The interview is impressive and I admire his courage to speak against the decision of benching him a lot. Why do you need such a strong player who proved his high level with Zalgiris Kaunas, reaching the Final4 of the Euroleague? To make him sit the entire game? A player that is able to do everything on the court from rebounds, blocks, playing excellent in the paint, shooting 3 pointers. A smart forward, without a doubt, one of the best in Europe.
With this kind of misusing players, Armani Milan has lost of games this season. First, the decision to part ways with Mike James and signing Shelvin Mack was the worst thing that happened to the Italian squad. Then the limited minutes offered to Aaron White and Arturas Gudaitis. That’s why after having such high ambitions at the beginning of the season, Armani Milan was going down quickly. In spite of their budget and the coach, that was supposed to bring some titles to the club, Armani Milan saw the earlier elimination from the Italian Cup. And the Euroleague’s playoffs participation seems very difficult too. Let’s not talk about the Italian league, where the richest squad was smashed by almost any team.
