Anadolu Efes will try to be again a title contender in the Euroleague

Re-signing Shane Larkin, the Turkish champions have made a big step in rebuilding the roster for the next season. The American wrote history in the recent playoff edition of the Euroleague, qualifying his team in the last battle of the competition. But now Anadolu Efes has to look up in front for the next season. What will be the expectations? I’m sure very high as well. Playoff as a minimum, but even enter again in the Final 4 in Koln and trying hard to win the Euroleague trophy. This year it will be harder, because of the F.C. Barcelona who build a super team.

Anyway, Anadolu Efes is on a positive path. They get rid of Brock Motum, but they added till now two new centers, Alec Peters from the reigning champions, CSKA and the local product, Gecim Tolga – one of the most clever and versatile big man in the Turkish league. He played excellent for Banvit last season and I think now he reached a mature level of understanding the game. He will be very helpful in the domestic league, but I would give him some good minutes as well in the Euroleague.

If Anadolu Efes will keep the whole core of the last season (Micic, Anderson, Dunston, Pleiss, Moerman, Simon, Beaubois) and it seems that this will happen for sure, they will be actually a better team having all the opportunities in front. Definitely, they will fight for the Euroleague title with chemistry and experience as main weapons. The only problem is that last season they had a bit of luck, smashing F.C. Barcelona in the final game of the playoff in Istanbul in a very tied series. And then to meet their rivals from Fenerbahce, who were in the worst shape ever, having half of the team out with injuries. This year will be a different one and the battle more tough to reach the top spots, even with a better roster.
