Armani Milano to take revenge on Happy Casa Brindisi
The Round 21 derby of Seria A Basketball will put face to face two teams with the same record, Happy Casa Brindisi and Armani Milano. Both teams have a 12-7 record and are currently placed on 4th and 5th positions. In their last encounter, Brindisi took a surprise win in Mediolanum Forum 92-89, after they lead almost the entire game. The main reason for the win was Tyler Stone, who ended with a double-double 26 points and 13 rebounds. Let’s see if Milano can take their revenge here.
For Brindisi, the only competition that matters now is the National League, because they were eliminated from Basketball Champions League after a defeat suffered against Szombathely in Hungary. That was the last chance for the Italian team and they started very well and took a 9-point lead at the halftime. But in the second half, Szombathely made an impressive comeback and won the game 93-83. However, thanks to Besiktas win over Neptunas, even if Brindisi won this game, they’ll also be eliminated from the competition. The main contributors for the Italian team were: Tyler Stone (19 points and 9 rebounds), Adrian Banks (18 points and 3 assists) and Dominique Sutton (14 points and 8 rebounds).
Milano’s morale is sky-high after they get the win over Bayern, in Euroleague, in the last seconds of the game. The first three quarters were very bad for Armani Milano, but in the last quarter everything seems to go in and all the bad luck from the first quarters, turns into a good one as 9 out of 14 attempts from the field were good, while Bayern ended that quarter with 3-11 including 0-7 from distance. That was a huge win for them because they lost last 3 games in a row in Euroleague and their play-off position is in danger as Khimki or Fenerbahce are right next to them. For Bayern, this was the seventh loss in the last 8 games and now they are on the last place in Euroleague standings. The main contributors were: Vladimir Micov (16 points and 2 rebounds), Nemanja Nedovic (13 points) and Sergio Rodriguez (9 points and 10 rebounds).
This should be an interesting match because Brindisi will focus only on this competition and will give everything to get a play-offs spot and save their season. For Milano, that win against Bayern was huge and they will show more determination in this game. With no doubts, Milano will try to get the win here over Brindisi and complete their revenge.
