Buyukcekmece, what a ridiculous game
Buyukcekmece, what a ridiculous game
This Turkish team reached the impossible: to lose against Sakarya, the poorest team in TBSL. Firstly, I want to refresh your memory about Sakarya. They had some talented players – like Toney Douglas, Jean Salumu and so on – at the beginning of the season and when the economic collapse hit the team, all have left the sinking boat.
So Sakarya tried to survive on the low-cost players. The only foreigners who continued to stay with the team are Junior Etou and another “junior” Mitchell Wilbekin. And they added TK Edogi who played before in Belgium having 2 points per game. So he is not a Kobe Bryant type of player. The same thing you can say about Wilbekin who scored yesterday 1 point with 0 from 6 FG and had 0 index rate in 22 minutes.
These are the “famous” players who overcame Buyukcekmece, a team with 5 strong foreigners like Kenny Hayes, Matt Tiby, Osiris Eldridge, Devin Williams and Danny Gibson.
Despite the huge difference between the rosters, Buyukcekmece played very bad from the start of the game. But in the 4th stanza, they managed somehow to gain the lead and to build a comfortable advantage 68-61 with 3 minutes left. In the next minute and a half, they blew the lead and Sakarya was back on top with 69-68. Eventually, Buyukcekmece lost the game with 73-69, receiving 12 points and scoring just 1 in the last 3 minutes of the battle.
