Cedevita destroyed Turk Telekom as I predicted

Yesterday, one of my prediction for the Eurocup playoffs was that Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana will have no problem with the visitors from Turk Telekom. The odd for the victory was too small so I recommended at least a small handicap of -3.5 on Cedevita. But for the brave bettors the handicap to be taken was around -8.5. Why I trusted so much the home side not only to win, but to do it easily?

First of all, Turk Telekom won´t reach the playoffs in Turkey, so it is a mediocre season for them. There are only 3 games left for them in the domestic league and after their holidays will start. There was no need now for this squad to qualify in the quarterfinals of the Eurocup.

On the other side, Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana is one of the revelations of the season in Eurocup. The host finished the regular phase in style, winning the last 8 consecutive games, including against Virtus Bologna. The Slovenian team has the prefect combination between home-grown players, like Jaka Blazic, Zoran Dragic, Alen Omic and Edo Muric, some amazing Americans: Jacob Pullen, Zach Auguste, Yogi Ferell and the Canadian Melvin Ejim.

Like I expected Cedevita started very well, leading by a big margin the entire game. The biggest margin was around 30 points and then, the visitors of Turk Telekom had a strong 4th quarter that cut the huge difference to only 13 points. A well-desearved victory for the host!
