Easy job for Anadolu Efes against Maccabi Tel Aviv?
It had to be one of the most interesting battles of this Euroleague round, but it seems an easy game for the host team due to Maccabi’s injuries. Anadolu Efes, the title contender can have an easy job tonight if the visitors will rest all their affected players.
The main centers of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Omri Casspi and Tarik Black are definitely out for this game, while the new acquisition, the experienced guard Aaron Jackson won’t make his debut with the team. On the list of the absentees could be added as well Othello Hunter and Tyler Dorsey who had some health issues too and they will be a game-time decision. If they won’t play at all, then Maccabi has an impossible mission in Istanbul tonight because they are meeting one of the best teams in the Euroleague, hungry to add another easy win in search of the 1st spot of the regular season.
The only missing players for Anadolu Efes are Dunston Bryant and Adrien Moerman, injured a couple of rounds ago, but the Turkish side has so many offensive weapons that his absence won’t count. The Turkish giant Sertac Sanli is having some impressive games and together with Tibor Pleiss, Alec Peters and Chris Singleton can do a good job in the paint on both sides of the court.
Actually, if we take into consideration also the previously injured players of Maccabi Tel Aviv, John DiBartolomeo and Nate Wolters, the Israeli powerhouse could face Anadolu Efes without 6 players from their main rotation, because Aaron Jackson came only now to replace the injured guards, boosting the backcourt of the squad. If Maccabi will win in these circumstances, it will be a historical moment. Only the magic of the 3 point shots can save the visitors tonight from the blow.
