F.C. Barcelona will attack the Euroleague title

F.C. Barcelona will attack the Euroleague title. Over the last 2 weeks, a lot of rumors about the recent signings of F. C. Barcelona gave birth to deep speculations. The fans of the blaugrana club are thrilled with the new additions (Cory Higgins, Brandon Davies, Alex Abrines, Nikola Mirotic and maybe Brad Wannamaker), meanwhile, the haters are trying to spread bad news.

But, beyond rumors, F.C. Barcelona will be a very serious title contender next season in ACB and Euroleague too. Their acquisition campaign so far proves one sure thing: the club will do anything to come back in the elite of European basketball. This try was initiated one year ago and if you take a look at last season it was not a bad one: winning the Spanish Cup and almost reaching the Euroleague final 4 (the bad luck was the clash with a historical Anadolu Efes in the playoffs). The main problem was the lack of deep rotation at 4 and 5 positions, with Kevin Seraphin coming back from injuries and never reaching his earlier level and a very oscillating Chris Singleton, very far from expectations.

The past is gone. Barca will invest more money and they are bringing in excellent players, many of them with NBA level. These new additions are exactly the missing pieces the azulgrana club needed to complete the puzzle for an impressive season. The new signings of F.C. Barcelona will give Svetislav Pesic more options in offense and defense and the level of motivation of the entire group will grow as well.

In the same time, other Euroleague title contenders, like CSKA Moscow, Real Madrid and Fenerbahce will be weaker this season due to different reasons. CSKA recently won the title and they will lose key players starting with Cory Higgins and Nando de Colo. Real Madrid roster is getting older every year and Fenerbahce doesn’t look like a ferocious squad.
