Fenerbahce, Partizan and Mornar will face U-Banca Transilvania in friendly tournament
The next weekend, between 14-15 September, U-BT Arena from Cluj-Napoca will host one of the biggest events of the year in Eastern Europe organized by Sports Festival. The modern arena from the heart of Transilvania, where, back in 2017 took place one of the Eurobasket groups has a capacity of 10 000 seats. Here, Fenerbahce, Partizan and Mornar Bar together with the host team, U-Banca Transilvania will compete for the trophy, in front of the crowds.
Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul – Coach Zeljko Obradovic and players like Jan Vesely, Nikola Kalinic or Leo Westermann don’t need any presentation to the audience. In the last couple of years, the Turkish club was a constant presence in the Euroleague Final 4, playing 3 consecutive Finals (2016, 2017, 2018) and winning the competition in 2017.
Partizan Belgrade – always a top team in Europe will be engaged again this season in Eurocup. They have a quality roster with a lot of big names like Novica Velickovic, Stefan Bircevic, Artsiom Parakhouski and a smart coach in Andrea Trichieri.
Mornar Bar – with an improved roster, including many ex-Euroleague players like Jacob Pullen, Mirza Begic, Milko Bjelica or Damir Markota, the Montenegrin club will try this season to reach the BasketballCL groups and why not the playoffs of the continental competition.
U-Banca Transilvania – the host team is continuing with the tradition of quality friendly games started last year when they invited Panathinaikos Athens in Cluj-Napoca. This season, the Romanian club signed a lot of important players, like Darko Planinic, Donatas Tarolis, Karlo Zganec, Brandyn Curry, Patrick Richard and Artis Ate. Under the lead of Duško Vujošević, they aim for a long presence in FIBA Europe Cup this seasons, where they can reach the higher stage, including the semifinals.
