I was sure Prometey can win vs Bursaspor
Two days ago, I recommended on my Telegram channel with basketball betting tips Prometey as the winner of the Eurocup game against Bursaspor. It looked crazy thing to bet on them at the odd 2.30, considering the following counterarguments: Bursaspor has just won during the weekend in Turkey against the reigning champions of the Euroleague, Anadolu Efes, while BC Prometey was destroyed last week at Brescia with 104-70.
Who would dare to place their money on BC Prometey to win over such a fantastic squad as Bursaspor?
The arguments for my choice were simple:
- Bursaspor has a very short rotation since Zach Auguste is injured. Practically, the Turkish squad rely on the great work of only 5 players, helped from the bench by 2 home-grown guys. If they entered in foul trouble they will be easy to get smashed by any serious team.
- Prometey had a much larger rotation, using easily 10 players, foreigners and national team Ukrainians
- If Prometey find their rhythm and could play their run and gun, they are very dangerous opponents for any team in the competition
The brilliant starting 5 lineup of Bursaspor – as I expected – didn’t resist much in front of the savage offensive practised by the Ukrainian team. In the 3rd quarter, Duverioglu was eliminated and Derek Needham had already 4 fouls, which made things easy for the host team. Without their core of experienced players, Bursaspor had no chance to win the battle. They struggled to come back in the last 2 minutes but was not enough.
