Important roster changes for MoraBanc Andorra
A new year, a new roster for MoraBanc Andorra. Last year`s performances were in contrast for Andorra. In the Spanish league, they finished only on the 10th place, but in Eurocup they managed to reach the semifinals, being eliminated by Alba Berlin. That performance was huge, but that didn`t stop Andorra to make great changes in their roster.
A lot of players left the team for other teams or are free agents now. Here we can name several players, including some of the main weapons from last season: Andrew Albicy, Michele Vitali, Rafa Luz, Reggie Upshaw, John Shurna, Beqa Burjanadze, Shayne Whittington, Mario Delas and Oliver Stevic.
First, let`s see who they got in the small positions. First, Clevin Hannah (31 years-old, 1.79m), who came from Gran Canaria where he averaged 9.3 points and 3.7 assists in 18 Euroleague games. He also played for Bilbao, Joventut and Murcia in Spain before. Then, from another Eurocup participant, Nanterre, they brought in Jeremy Senglin (24 years-old, 1.88m). Last season he averaged 13.5 points and 3.3 assists in 36 French league games. The MoraBanc GM said about Senglin that he will be one of their references next season, so the team will rely more on his offensive skills. Another guard added with good numbers is Frantz Massenat (27 years-old, 1.93). He played for Oldenburg last season, where he averaged 11.1 points and 3.0 assists in the German league. At small forward, the choice was Dejan Todorovic (25 years-old, 1.97). Last season he played for Murcia only two games due to an injury.
Andorra signed as well four players to strengthen their game in the paint. The most important is Dejan Musli (28 years-old, 2.13m). He`s a former Eurocup champion, winning the title in 2017 with Unicaja. Last season he played in China for Hebei Xianglan, where he averaged 13.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Next player added is Nacho Llovet (28 years-old, 2.02m, PF) from Obradoiro. He averaged 9.0 points and 5.1 rebounds in 34 Spanish league games. From Partizan Belgrade was added Bandja Sy (29 years-old, 2.04m, F). He averaged 5.7 points and 3.9 rebounds in 15 Eurocup games. And the last player added was a young and promising forward, Tyson Perez (23 years-old, 2.02). Last season he played in Spanish second division and was named MVP of the competition, despite his team finishing in 15th place out of 18.
Those are the new players of MoraBanc Andorra. In my opinion, they added great and interesting players with a lot of experience across European Competition. Almost all the new players tasted before the Spanish league or Eurocup. This will be a good season for Andorra.
