Joventut Badalona dominated Andorra in Eurocup

A couple of weeks ago in the Spanish League, MoraBanc Andorra won in Badalona. Now the Eurocup game was totally different. First of all both teams had two important absences. Guillem Vives and Brandon Paul were out for Joventut Badalona, while Drew Crawford and Gal Mekel were missing for MoraBanc Andorra.

I think that Joventut Badalona covered better those 2 absences because they have a large bench of promising young players that can come and do a good job. Then the experience of the veteran duo Ante Tomic and Pau Ribas is helping a lot. That’s why in the first 3 quarters Joventut dominated the game, leaving no chance for Andorra to come back. The host squad has won each quarter and the difference was huge, more than 20 points.

In the last stanza, Joventut Badalona relaxed a bit and introduced more bench players in order to rest the main players. The visitors led by Cody Miller-McIntyre (22 p) struggled a lot for a comeback and they cut the margin to only 10 points. The final score, 90-80 reflects the good offense for both teams.

Ante Tomic was simply amazing with 6/6 inside the arc, the same 6/6 from the free-throw line while having 30 units at index rate. He was by far the best at assists chapter with 7, grabbing as well 4 rebounds. Joventut Badalona was helped also by the young players Joel Parra who scored 14 points and Arturs Zagars with 12 points.
