Joventut with a narrow win in thriller over Bursaspor

The derby between Joventut Badalona and Frutti Buraspor was a game full o surprises. The Spaniards started the game with an interesting formula introducing the youngster Allen in their starting five, while Bursaspor went with their best players. That’s why in the first minutes of the game, the visitors dominated the game and had a big advantage 22-13 but for a short period of time. Slowly, Joventut went back into the game because their rotation was larger and at the break time they took already the lead.

It seemed that Bursaspor lost all their inspiration and it will be an easy win for the home side who dominated the second half and with 2 minutes had an important advantage. But this was Bursaspor time who bounced back and tied the game with 6.6 seconds remaining. Joventut had the last attack and Andres Feliz converted the first free throw and then missed intentionally the second one and the Turkish team had no possibility to score anymore.

A very close win for the Spaniards which prove once again that rotation is very important. The team was led by Kyle Guy with 25 points including some amazing 3-pointers in the last stanza and by the veteran center Ante Tomic with 21 points. On the Turkish side, the young local talent Onuralp Bitim led the scorers with 17 points, while Needham and Dudzinski had 16 a piece. Zach Auguste was close with 15 points and if he concentrated a bit on the game he could score much more. He missed some free throws and some easy lay-ups.
