Let us take a little break from the NBA trades. Summer is a great time for young players to prove themselves in the NBA summer league. Young talents fight for a chance to play on the biggest scene of basketball.
On July 15, 2019, the summer league has come to an end. Memphis Grizzlies won the crown, winning in the finals against Minnesota Timberwolves, 95-92.
Last year, the summer event, represented a good chance to shine for players like Josh Hart, Collin Sexton, Kevin Knox, Wendell Carter Jr., Trae Young, Jaren Jackson Jr., or Deandre Ayton. After impressing in summer league, these players had a great rookie season in NBA; moreover, three of them were on the first 2018-2019 NBA All-Rookie First team, Ayton, Young and Jackson.
This year had its highlights and great moments involving promising young players. Maybe the most promising talents were selected in the NBA Summer League First Team. The tournament MVP, Brandon Clarke, alongside with Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Jarret Allen, Kendrick Nunn and Mitchel Robinson form the best summer league team.
Let us see, which one of these players will prove their worthiness to be nominated in the next year First NBA ALL Rookie team.
There are still many weeks until the season starts, enough time for a young player to train and prove to everybody that they deserve to play in NBA, a bright and shiny arena.
