After a very hard game in Round 9 of Euroleague, Armani Milano will receive the visit of another top team that aims to reach the Final Four, Anadolu Efes. Both teams have the same record, 7-2 so this game promises to be a top-level match-up. They played on Tuesday and after two days they will clash in a very interesting meeting.
Armani Milano met at home a big team in Maccabi Tel Aviv, a team that needs no description, a team full of experienced players and ex-NBA-ers. However, Milano managed to get a 92-88 win and stopped a 12-win run from Maccabi in all competitions. The match was very intense and only the free-throws made the difference. Both teams scored 50% of their shots, had the same amounts of rebounds, almost the same in turnovers, but Milano passed the ball more, recording 20 assists to 12 from Maccabi. The main contributors were: Luis Scola (20 points and 7 rebounds), Sergio Rodriguez (18 points and 11 assists) and Vladimir Micov (13 points and 4 rebounds). For this game, Gudaitis and Della Valle are out.
In the last round, Anadolu travelled to France and won in a hard Astroballe arena 90-84 against ASVEL Lyon. At halftime, they had a one-point lead, by step by step they got the win despite Lyon’s fight but in the last minutes of fourth-quarter Anadolu took an 11 point lead and everything were settled. They scored almost 50% of their shots while at the foul line they had 25 made out of 26 attempts. That was the main reason for the win and Lyon’s 28 fouls. The main scorers were: Shane Larkin (19 points and 4 assists), Vasilije Micic (16 points and 8 assists) and Rodrigue Beaubois (16 points). For this game, they can’t count on Adrien Moerman and Bryant Dunston.
This is a game that can’t be missed, a game with very good players and offensive teams. In this game is very hard to predict the winner, but Milano has a chance to continue their good run here because Anadolu travelled from Turkey to France and now to Italy so the fatigue can affect their focus. Also, the Milano’s fans will give their players a huge boost as in the match against Maccabi.
