Real Madrid won’t win Copa del Rey
I am not 100% sure that Barca will win the Spanish Cup because there are many title contenders and the Cup is a competition full of surprises, but one thing I know for sure: Real Madrid won’t do it!
Even if they are the hosting team of the tournament, Los Blancos are at the moment in the worst shape of all. Too many injuries, some players are too old and other problems like the covid case of Laprovittola are currently affecting very bad the rotation. Laprovittola is back with the squad and he could play today but after recovering from the disease he won’t do miracles.
The loss against Baskonia, a team that destroyed Real Madrid in the Euroleague by 20 points margin, showed us the actual face of the problem. I consider that Valencia Basket should have a great chance today especially now when Guillem Vives is back with the team. If Joan Sastre and San Emeterio would be also recovered I would bet my house on Valencia.
Even if Valencia Basket will fail today, the way to the title will be complicated for Real Madrid because if they advance (which I don’t think) they will meet Iberostar Tenerife or Burgos and then a strong team, probably FC Barcelona or Baskonia coming from the other side of the Cup brackets. It will be impossible with such a decimated roster to win Copa del Rey.
