Reggio Emilia needs better foreigners

Former Italian league finalist (2015 and 2016), Reggiana had this season a lot of bad luck when they composed the roster. After a couple of games, Spencer Butterfield retired from basketball, Elonu Chinemelu got injured and Ricky Ledo and Eric Griffin were waived by the team.
Now, the team is in the rebuilding process and the acquisitions of Pablo Aguilar and K.C. Rivers are the best options. But they are not enough. Of course, Reggiana declared that they are searching for a strong point guard to complete the roster. But, again, this new guy won’t be enough. Why?
Let’s take a look at the last game lost against Dolomiti Energia Trento: somebody realized that Pablo Aguilar and Ricardo Cervi had together 41 index rate and the rest of the Reggiana team just 8??? We all understand the for K.C. Rivers was the first game with the team and maybe that’s why he scored 4 from 17 FG (under 25%). So he will improve, because I hope it is still a huge player. But will Pedro Llompart and Benjamin Ortner improve? Or, it is realistic to ask those veterans to improve? Llompart will be 37 years old in January and Ortner 36 in March. They are at the end of their career and I am sure that they want to give everything on the court. But can they do it? These are the foreigners that a team need in order to be successful? I doubt about it! Llompart and Ortner they can still play, but in Romania, Bulgaria, Albania or other weak countries, but here in a professional championship as Italy? You have to be blind to not see that they cannot help any team in a serious championship.
