Philadelphia 76ers Slowly Getting Back on Track

Washington Wizards
The franchise coming from the capital of the United States, Washington Wizards, has 1 championship under their belt. It came in the 1977-78 season while being led by Elvin Hayes and Wes Unseld, two future Hall of Famers. This marked the highest peak in Washington’s franchise history. After that season, the team began to fall down and they didn’t make any noise in the playoffs for years to come. Michael Jordan came back from retirement to play for them in 2001. It didn’t turn out to be a good idea, as Jordan was already in his “father time”. In those two years spent there, the Wizards had a losing record in both seasons, mainly because of Jordan’s multiple knee injuries. After he left the game of basketball for the final time, Gilbert Arenas came to play for them, but he didn’t manage to do a lot of things, as the Wizards were constantly beaten by the Cavaliers in the first round. For some years they didn’t even make the playoffs. When John Wall was drafted by them with the number 1 overall pick, playoff basketball was once again in the franchise sight. Until present, they only managed to compete in 4 playoffs, being eliminated in the Conference Semi Finals three times and once in the first round, last season. Currently, the situation in Washington is kind of hard, as John Wall is out for the season for some time now. The thing that worries the Wizards more at the moment is that he could even miss the whole season next year, too.
