Tough game for Joventut Badalona at Prometey
One of the most exciting games of the Eurocup will take place tomorrow in Riga where the Ukrainian powerhouse Prometey will host Joventut Badalona. Months ago, the Spaniards won at home with a slight margin of 82-77 after a very disputed clash where both squads had the possibility to steal the victory.
Now, the first chance to win the battle belongs to Prometey for many reasons:
- They signed more players and have a more complete rotation in the entire Eurocup than they had in the first encounter with Joventut. Their roster filled with foreigners and Ukrainian national team players is one of the largest in the European competition. Prometey is definitely a title contender.
- Joventut had some issues with missing players due to some injury and the roster is not 100% ready for the game. Even if they had a huge win away this weekend at Bilbao, where they smashed the host team by almost 20 points, beating Prometey is still difficult.
- It is a long journey from Badalona to Riga and probably Joventut Badalona will be tired after the trip to Bilbao and again travel the longest trip possible for them in Eurocup. Meanwhile, Prometey played at home this weekend and they had an easy win, resting some players.
Even if Prometey has the first chance to win it, Joventut Badalona is a very surprising team that can beat any opponent due to their collective and unselfish game. It will be the most interesting game to watch of the round.
