Treviso with a horror game vs. Tofas
What happened yesterday in Treviso is history. Since the home team announced that their main center Henry Sims will be back, everybody expected a different result of the encounter. At the same time, Tofas Bursa came without one of their important players, Francisco Cruz. Tofas was already 2-0 before this game, while Treviso was 0-1 so the motivation should be higher for the Italians.
The bookmakers offered as favourite Treviso but actually what happened on the court was a horror movie for the home side. Treviso started very bad with 0-10 and continued in the same horrible way. The big man Henry Sims, the hope of Treviso in the paint was on the bench and he rested there the entire game, while his teammates were smashed by the opponents.
At the breaktime, Treviso scored only 24 points and from those 17 were made by the youngster Giovani Bortolani. The rest of the squad looked like helpless second league players against an NBA team. The number of turnovers and bad decisions was incredible. Treviso didn’t find any ways to penetrate the strong defense of Tofas, while on the other side of the court the visitors scored easy baskets.
To lose at home by more than 40 points when you were the favourite to win that battle and you needed the victory more than anything is simply embarrassing. Take a look at the most important chapter of the game: the index rate, where Treviso had only 35, while Tofas Bursa had 129. This is one of the biggest margins in the history of basketball. As I told you, history was made!
